in my home city, business districts were once zoned “whites only”, housing titles came with a “do not sell to asiatics” clause, etc. it’s all in the city archives. but not in schools, or even in a lot of leftist discourse, book clubs, etc.

imo, it’s a more insidious brand of racism right now, and because of that more easily downplayed. historically, mf burned down our towns, addicted us to opium, deported us after exploiting our labour, etc. but a lot of people don’t know anything about that history.
