my gramma helped raise me and now she’s very close to not being here anymore and i am not coping well!

around 34% of people over the age of 85 currently have alzheimer’s and that number is only going to go up as our population ages. but the government has decided that funding research to end it is no longer a priority. unimaginable cruelty all in the name of the bottom line

update: he emailed me back one of the kindest emails i’ve ever recieved and now we’re planning a trip for me to come stay with him ❤️ i’m so glad this is going well, it’s such a weird situation for him and i never want to impose!

i love my dad’s partner & i want to be there while he grieves my dad but i can’t fly to NYC rn when my gramma is hurt & there’s just a lot of things in play!!! i really hope he’s receptive to what i said. we don’t really know each other (he only knew me as a kid) but we both loved my dad

i would prefer that the healthcare professionals that are interacting with my 90 year old grandmother wear a mask (and correctly! not under their noses wtf) and i feel like that’s not a weird thing to say! but the nurses sure acted like it was when i asked them 😬

i used to get a hazelnut iced coffee like multiple times a day from the sbux @ the MU in college so i know it used to be available!!! but she looked at me like i was crazy 😔
