Wheel of Time fan, Native plant proselytizer and horticulturist by training but not by trade, beaded jewelry hobbyist (on staycation), general sci-fi and fantasy nerd, and member of the oldest millennial cohort (I remember life b4 cell phones & computers)
On audio the Murderbot books and Dungeon Crawler Carl series are excellent. Obviously Wheel of Time which I see others have mentioned but be aware if you start with Rosamund Pike’s narration you might have a hard time adjusting to the original narrators for later books - I heard she is that good.

This is a much more entertaining way to catch up (at least as a reader I enjoyed this recap and it’s probably the most accurate one out there without reading the series). youtu.be/YpJOwUD1oTo?... #WoTSkies

Thanks for the tip! I’ve been enjoying pancakes again after finding Bob’s Red Mill GF classic pancake mix is almost as good as those I used to make before I discovered wheat gave me two straight years of persistent headaches. I am now back to eating too many carbs again 🤣

Try this one for white bread at least. Makes very good grilled sandwiches: canyonglutenfree.com

Agree, schar generally has the best GF pizza crusts as well. Their people clearly taste their products more than some other brands.

If you haven’t read them yet there are short stories out there in some compilation books. Also check out The Origins of The Wheel of Time by Michael Livingston which will make you want to reread it all. If you just want to enjoy some well produced parodies of pop music look up #WoTIdol on YouTube 😉

I will add that we are statistically the best fandom (look for the Dusty Wheel deep dives on YouTube) and have an annual song parody contest that is So. Much. Fun. Even when you are just a spectator 🙃

Some might disagree but #WoTSkies thinks so 😉 - it’s nostalgic for many of us but there are plenty of adults who enjoyed it too. If you are okay with very detailed descriptions of setting and clothing and understand that many of the main characters start off as late teens and early 20s then try it

You could listen to the cliff notes version of the story on YouTube youtu.be/YpJOwUD1oTo?... and would learn enough to figure out a gift - personally I’m a fan of the tshirts here and am about to order a second: www.newcreationsbyjen.com/collections/... #WoTSkies
Randland Souvenir Series
So you took a tour of Randland and you forgot the lousy t-shirt? Don’t worry, New Creations by Jen has you covered. Literally! Just take your pick...plus there’s more than just t-shirts.

Listen to the adaptation episodes of the podcast Wheel Takes with Ali and Gus and it makes the choices a lot more digestible 😉

If you want to try again there are some great read along podcasts out there like Wheel Takes with Ali & Gus. I listened to the adaptation episodes and was highly entertained so I imagine their read along ones are good too. As a mom who loves these books I’m sure yours would be thrilled if you did 🙃

I’m listening to #6 in the series (in a short couple of months I’ve burned so many Audible credits!) also at Daniel’s recommendation and enjoying it too. Just heard a burn on Iowa/Delaware in the same sentence and my jaw dropped because I grew up in both states and it felt personally directed 🤣🤣🤪

Not as gratifying as seeing the actors, you can learn how the story ends with a YouTube whiteboard summary video of the book plot by Daniel Greene (entertaining in its own right). As a big fan of the story with all its flaws I recommend the books on audio (Libby) if no time to read it #WoTSkies 😉

Daniel Green did a summary video (11 hours for the first 11 books) for anyone that needs to hear a recap or listen to the cliff notes of the slog to get to the last 3 but recommend continuing- the ending is great #WoTSkies
