Exploring Bluesky. 🦥 reader. I keep trying to get lost in books, but reality persists. I’m also trying to avoid a lot of non-book-related social-media addictive stuff, including politics, with mixed success.

The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood

ok - so I want to tell you about Atwood's 1st novel, how the 2nd wave of feminism plays in it, but also, mainly, the humor. This is a really fun, and funny, look at a serious world problem, relevant today.

Can you feel the intensity? (I’m as worked up as I can without disturbing my lap kitty.)

Gone to the Forest by Katie Kitamura wraps up 2025. Perfect prose and the magic of Kitamura, with oomph. She doesn’t only do cerebral. She can wound you.

The best laid plans… Here’s a snapshot of what I plan to read in 2026. Some Renaissance. A lot of Virginia Woolf.

An excerpt from Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson (1980). The girls trying to get their aunt to tell them about their deceased mom. This juxtaposition!
