How do you get your ducks in a row?
I was lucky enough for this picture to be included in a local wildlife calendar. The first time any of my pictures have won a competition. As an amateur, I'm very happy.

I'm finding the SAD getting bad at the mo, but a brisk 8ml walk through icy rain and into the eventual glorious sunshine helped blow some cobwebs away 🌦☀️🐦😁

Juvenile Herring Gull with its catch
I watched this bird for a good 10 mins trying to swallow this fish, and then when it couldn't, I watched it fail to take off with it too 😂

These guys normally nest in large sandy banks, but here in Newcastle, we have a colony in an old stone wall!

There were two chicks in here a couple of days before, so hopefully, one has fledged, and this one will soon follow (if it hasn't already!)
