Which vibe-coding tool or model is best at replicating a UI from an image? I tested 7 different ones with the same image and prompt.

The surprising part wasn't the winner. I learned something else new about prompting, that I wasn't even testing for.

I got tired of copy/pasting websites into #ChatGPT just to ask a quick question, so this weekend I built a Chrome extension to chat with webpages directly, using a #Pinecone Assistant!

Integrated with the #SEC API recently, and nearly every step of the way had some sort of difference from most #REST APIs.

Researched each diff, and it turns out there are some very valid reasons for these choices that seem hell-bent on ruining your weekend project

This weekend I tested out Railway for hosting Python scripts, and built a Discord bot using a Pinecone assistant to add AI chat with RAG. Railway was easy to set up and deploy from GitHub, and the bot was only about 60 lines of code.

Fun weekend project, building a local API to create #Markdown files from #LLM responses. I used a #Python script to call #Ollama, and then #FastAPI for Markdown CRUD. Everything is done from the Mac terminal.

For #StarWars Day last weekend, I used the Star Wars API and #Neo4j to generate a knowledge graph showing all the planets and species related to the first 3 films.

I wrote a quick guide on how to convert the API JSON to a cypher query, here:

I love this #guitar so much I bought it TWICE (accidentally). Played one at a guitar store in MO while traveling, didn't have room to get it so I tried ordering on ebay later. Lost 2 bids, then bid on 2 more and won both! Had to cancel one order. Still my favorite guitar. 6 str baritone #LTD

Having fun with the FLUX.1 model using @replicate.com! It took about 20 minutes to fine-tune the model on 10 photos of me, and now I can consistently generate images with my face from a prompt in just over a minute! Here's a sample using the source_image property and a few images from #biglebowski

12 days of hot sauces from Torchbearer. Pretty sure it’s gonna take me for than 12 days to finish! Number one was excellent! Son of Zombie wing sauce. Plenty of heat and a nice Smokey flavor.

Productive morning upgrading the lightboard with wheels, video lighting, monitor mount, and a power strip. Now I can see the recording from my side of the glass without causing a glare. Also blocked out the window so I can record during the day.

Just cancelled a 16 y/o Verizon account and switched to
@t-moblie.bsky.social. Verizon wanted $35/5Gb for data over the imaginary limit on an UNLIMITED plan, during a hurricane, when our power and internet was out for a full week. Feels good to stop giving my money to Verizon.

Whenever you hit the limits of the native #FileMakerPro, chances are there's a workaround using a web viewer and the right #JavaScript library. I needed a way to extract JSON without hosting the file. Hacked together a web viewer with Papa Parse.

Most weekends I work on a side-project, which is usually more coding or writing on my personal blog. This weekend I worked on a different kind of side-project and built a lightboard! The same size one pre-made costs about $1400. I was able to build it for just over $100!
