Schools are throwing $10M+ at coaches like they're the only people who can read a playbook. Meanwhile, AI can now watch every snap your opponent has ever run and tell you not just what play they're calling, but why they're calling it. Schools are better off investing their money in AI research that won’t leave them two weeks before the College Football Playoffs. Feed 5 seasons of game film to a model 5 seasons and it'll map out tendencies, predict adjustments, and identify weaknesses. We're heading toward the ultimate Moneyball scenario. Except instead of finding undervalued baseball players, we're about to see a school with a $500K coach and a great AI system upset a program paying $12M for "elite leadership." The real question: How long until we see a "Sideline AI Coach" position? Someone with a headset, laptop, and direct line to the AI model telling them "they're running play-action here, I'm 87% confident." Sure, coaching is still about motivation, culture, and recruiting. But in the future, what will the ROI be of paying someone eight figures primarily for Xs and Os?

It may seem weird given Clase’s salary but I know a wealthy guy who owns a dozen of apartments and also earns a lot of money and he always goes to a store which is 30 minutes from his home because beer there is two cents cheaper.

I don't know why companies like Salesforce are pushing so hard for AI when they cannot make something simple and useful work. Maybe that's how Salesforce determines their strategy? "Hey, the probability of success is 192000%, so it should be good, right?!"
