I may or may not have gotten fed up, and taken over the account

At which point I texted the mobile number on file:

End of Week 78. Have the arm out of the brace a wee bit more each day for isometrics, but still no cardio.

Goal is to make it through Thanksgiving and then resume slow treadmill walk for Week 80.

Four weeks to go before I get my arm back

There's also a previously-clickable UI element to get it for other accounts as well

Nonzero chance it was a feature that went live and then got rolled back, because clicking the arrow now does nothing

Maybe. The format does match the one for my account (just in dark mode)

100% impressive af at how minimally invasive this operation was

Didn't take a pic before they put the strips on, but it's like super-thin lines about the length of my thumbnail
November 18, 2025 at 7:34 PM
We then have 18 matchers -- 17 on a per-donor basis, and Brian doing the $1-for-$1 match

Which means the per-donor matchers are on the hook for 536 donors (519 regular + 17 co-matchers)

Which adds another $24,328 to the mix

End of Week 77, and first full week with the arm brace. Honestly I expected worse so I guess that's a win lol

Five weeks to go before I get my arm back

Seconds after that photo:

Shoulder felt a bit stiff, so decided to sit down for a bit in the recliner that I used to sleep in

Within minutes…
November 14, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Genuine question: do I look older than this guy??
November 14, 2025 at 12:56 AM
And the per-donor matchers will be adding at least +$17,928 to that total 💪💪

But there's more to go! Many of the donor-matchers don't cap out until we hit 500 ppl -- and that means we need ~168 more folks on board by 11:59pm PST Friday! 😆

Every donor triggers +$54 in matcher donations! Plus a 2x!

And this video of the delivery to one of the schools, where some of the schoolkids – the very ones who would be receiving a bag of these groceries – were able to help unload:

And of course I asked them to get video of me driving the forklift, which is now a recurring thing I thoroughly enjoy 😂

But between the loan and Brian upping his contribution, we managed to bridge the gap and get things done

And a long-time photographer friend and her husband agreed to take photos, which led to things like this cool time-lapse video showing the operation in progress:

And... I had to work most of the rest of the time, so I only got to check in at nights to help clean up 🤪

Still got a couple photos though:

To help with training so many volunteers at scale, we created a new "model bag" training display so folks could see how to bag things

This is the bag I showed y'all up near the top of the thread in the "What We Do" section:

Turq and I did our annual photo while the gym was packed and ready for volunteers

This became my banner photo on most social media sites

You'll notice it's the same NCCU Law t-shirt from some of those prior year photos 🫣 With a GitHub hoodie jacket!

Shep had already been instrumental in helping us raise $10K for the Spring Break 2022 event

(If you ever saw the hashtag #SmoochTheOx🐂💋, that was what it was for -- pics below)

So he got conscripted into service again for the December event
November 13, 2025 at 4:18 AM
You can guess how it went by this summary: I learned how to drive a forklift 🙃

In the rain 🙃🙃

At night 🙃🙃🙃

So we went from feeding 3Kish students at 10 schools to *5,103 kids at 12 schools*

It required a whole restructuring of how we ran things, b/c we literally didn't have enough floor space to store bags 😂

So we loaded straight onto trucks and tried to do deliveries quickly while bagging continued
November 12, 2025 at 4:27 PM
The funny part is that the first time Brian offered to help, I *turned him down!* 🤦‍♂️

Because I didn't know how we'd move the food, and I didn't want his donation to go unused!

We talked on a call and he's like "Bro just rent a semi" and it was a paradigm-shifting moment for me 😂

I also created a fancy Excel spreadsheet to facilitate the ordering with Costco, that we still use to this day (even though there were rampant issues with getting adequate supplies due to COVID supply chain problems)

Here's what the 2021 order looked like:
