I *believe*he has a lot more say now with Khan than he did with Colbert. So yes, he should be criticized.

I think he is in a similar place as Philly was with Reid, just time to go for both sides.

Wrote a rare non-Eagles article last year on them which was fun. They went a decade without drafting OL in first two rounds

I still feel pretty in tune with that base, I think 90% of the blame goes to Tomlin. I actually think Tomlin is exceeding what should be expected of him with the talent they have had.... outside of DL and SAF and their rotating door of head case WRs, they haven't been a talented team

and

"A new Player Contract… shall be treated as a separate contract for purposes of the Salary Cap."
December 4, 2025 at 12:04 AM
Just checked CBA quickly, think the above is right - two relevant clauses:

"Upon the termination of a player’s contract… any unamortized signing bonus amounts shall immediately accelerate and be included in the Team’s Salary for that League Year."

(cont)

I am 99% sure on this, but the original dead cap becomes locked in when Slay's Eagles contract terminates. If he came back, that would be a new contract and would not be able to change the original dead cap. It operates like it's different players.

They are a team most view as well run but they really aren't... They have burned draft capital, failed to have a plan at QB, and either are fine being "good enough" or really think they are going to compete. Last time they won a playoff game was the 2016 season.
December 3, 2025 at 11:54 PM
Agree totally. Just think if he has a fit in the league, it will be there, not CB.
December 3, 2025 at 3:10 PM
Probably not. I was more theorizing that they should have tried that earlier.

I wouldn't be surprised if he found a fit in the league at safety. Would be disappointing to see another secondary piece thrive somewhere else.

(I fully expect Kelee to leave Philly this off-season, go somewhere and have a re-birth of his career at safety)
December 3, 2025 at 1:27 PM
Kelee hasn't been as good of a tackler as he should be (or was in college), he has the size and the straight line speed. Not sure he would succeed but I'd try him out there and see (and not sure he would be worse than Syd).

Please poke holes in this if you think I am crazy...

Hit rates are so low after pick ~80-90 that the day 3 picks don't matter much. I actually like the flyers they took at OL (Williams and Hinton). I liked McCord as a QB3. Other than that, can't expect much.

Howie needs to get back to premium positions - there won't be good FA CB/WR/ED options
December 3, 2025 at 12:28 PM
R4 Ty Robinson
This was the one pick I hated at the time and looks like a disaster.

A 24-year old who didn't break out until his 6th year, isn't great at anything, and is being scratched for Byron Young. Could have moved up for Josiah Stewart, stayed for SAF (Watts) or a TE (Helm, Gadsen)
December 3, 2025 at 12:28 PM
R2 Mukuba
Another good player but again a non-premium position who was overdrafted. I had Kevin Winston (R3-82) and Xavier Watts (the Eagles original pick at R3-96) ahead of him. Winston is playing as well and Watts is better.
December 3, 2025 at 12:28 PM
what do you mean on Slay? He has looked 5 years older this whole year
December 3, 2025 at 12:07 AM
I probably overstated that some. But they are near middle of the league this year if we are honest

I think they just assume they can do anything (run into heavy boxes and dare to be stopped, ton of time to throw) because of the OL which isn't true this year
December 2, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Same, to a fault I believe in reversion to the mean and they had a lot go right for them last year. There was going to be some reversion and the schedule was rough. But this is worse than I thought.
December 2, 2025 at 8:39 PM
I'm into the draft so....... right with you.

Obviously they can turn it around, they will think that way and should, and not sure there's a super scary team out there this year. But, this team is just wrong... OL is a weakness, OC won't win, injuries, etc.
December 2, 2025 at 8:38 PM
I have an idea... Weekend at Kevin's...
December 2, 2025 at 8:10 PM
Every where you turn, it is such a puzzling / basic / singular offense.
December 2, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Hahaha it's my only coping mechanism.

This is just a broken team that refuses to change / fix what is wrong.
November 29, 2025 at 2:10 AM
Yeah I just used what they had
