I’ll allow it.

If that’s true, it’s an extreme outlier. You’re describing a 75 percent increase. In general, grocery prices are up about 3 percent more expensive than a year ago.

Inflation was moderate by historical standards in 2024, and much lower than the post-pandemic spike.
December 18, 2025 at 6:42 AM
We did that. It didn’t change opinion.
December 18, 2025 at 6:33 AM
I’d say it’s “curious,” but I don’t know about funny.

Who are you talking to?

Pretty sure Portland is something like 16th.

Seeing a press screening of Reservoir Dogs, knowing absolutely nothing about the film or the director.

How do you still have leftovers? Did you have an 85-pound turkey for two people or something?
December 7, 2025 at 11:33 PM
I don’t know enough about all of this to give a good answer, but I wish I knew.

Do I think inflation-adjusted wages rising at a somewhat slower rate than in the recent past hits households hard? My guess is that for most it does not. But that’s not really the point, which is that this particular graph is a weak argument for the existence of an affordability crisis
December 5, 2025 at 2:55 AM
I’m not saying there isn’t an “affordability crisis,” but how is that demonstrated by a graph that shows real wages increasing?
December 4, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Sounds good to me!
December 1, 2025 at 5:57 AM
This makes me miss New York.
