As a result, its own court ruling that government actions do not contradict international law are legitimate and do not undermine the claim of being a liberal democracy governed within the constraints of state and international laws.
March 29, 2025 at 2:09 PM
The ICJ did not act as an honest court in this case taking many liberties with its claim over jurisdiction to rule, consent, intervening within an active conflict between two parties acting within Oslo accord etc.

See decent opinion and lieber.westpoint.edu/icjs-advisor...
The ICJ’s Advisory Opinion on the Occupied Palestinian Territory and the Court’s Discretion - Lieber Institute West Point
ICJ should be very cautious when acceding to requests for advisory opinions since their effect might be the opposite to their intention.

The court actually ruled international and state laws are in fact followed. So it appears your opinion is just your opinion.

Sad nevertheless. He should have never been taken.

These opinions omit that citizens in Israel have equal rights, but focus only on people who are not citizens of Israel that do not have equal rights.

So much effort to muddy the waters.

In the end, it’s the recognition, negotiation, peace that will solve the conflict.

Not reports.

An “advisory opinion” isn’t the same finding of guilt.

The opinion is full of inconsistencies and omissions:
(E.g. www.lawfaremedia.org/article/the-...)

What I know is that all citizens in Israel can run for office, vote, access education, advancement, etc. equally. That’s not apartheid.
The Limits of the ICJ Advisory Opinion on Israel’s Occupation and the West Bank
By not fully engaging with history, geopolitics, and the charge of apartheid, the court failed to fully engage with the complexity of the situation.

Because:

1. “apartheid” here isn’t an actual apartheid. Israel does not limit the rights of its citizens.

2. Actual apartheid in South Africa or USA came through policial change, not violent overthrow of a country. There was violence, but not a violent uprising.

Demolishing anything isn’t peaceful. Try again but without hate.
February 8, 2025 at 7:47 PM
It is pointless to argue with fake casualty numbers or dubious charts.

I agree with that.

I also agree that Israelis and Palestinians don’t trust each other.

Where we seem to disagree is the next step. I think it should be:
Recognition-> Negotiation->
Peace.
February 8, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Yes. That would take:

1. Recognition of Israel
2. Negotiations with Israel.
3. Peace with Israel.

If you and I can agree on that, I am happy.
February 8, 2025 at 7:40 PM
The dubious chart notwithstanding, you don’t want there to be a peace process because you don’t trust Israel?

Israel doesn’t trust Palestinian leadership either. So they either kill each other or they negotiate. I would rather they negotiate.

Wars don’t work.
February 8, 2025 at 7:16 PM
There is ongoing sectarian violence against religious and/or ethnic communities in Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan… That didn’t start on oct 7 either.

Life before the end of Ottoman Empire wasn’t bliss for religious or ethnic minorities including Jews.
February 8, 2025 at 7:10 PM
There are a number of local, middle-east organizations and parties who advocate for peace. Blame and vilification of one side over another has caused too many wars and deaths. Time to advocate for peace.

Calling for a dismantling of Israel isn’t peace advocacy. That’s more violence.

Peace with Egypt and Jordan are holding. I would say Israel does have a pretty good track record.
February 8, 2025 at 6:38 PM
Kfir Bibas was born a couple of months before he was kidnapped by Hamas. If you claim Israel has no right to exist, does that include Kfir?

The conversation you want to have instead is:
“Let’s have a peace process”.
February 8, 2025 at 6:34 PM
This present conflict absolutely returned to extreme violence on October 7.

If instead of an armed incursion, Hamas offered to start discussing peace, thousands of people would still be alive and we would be having a very different conversation.
February 8, 2025 at 6:16 PM
That’s propaganda. Palestinians for sure had and have some kind people. During the Hebron massacre of Jews in the 1920’s, for example, there were a number of residents who hid Jews. But the Muslim world in general always had difficult relationship with its religious minorities. It wasn’t bliss.
February 8, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Imagine being so full of hate that you would call an entire 7+ million people sadists. Old, infants, everyone in between. Jews, Muslims, Druze, Christian… Gay, straight… Left wing, right wing… And think that’s ok.

Heal your hate. You are a problem.
February 8, 2025 at 5:59 PM
It’s a choice. Feel free to block. That’s like cleaning up after yourself. You soil my feed, you remove yourself voluntarily. Or do you expect me block you?
February 8, 2025 at 5:26 PM
Remember when Trump suggested intravenous bleach to fight covid and the medical community had to waste precious energy explaining to people how stupid that was? Well you’re doing the same thing. You say something ridiculous then wonder why people “don’t look it up”. Idiot.
February 8, 2025 at 5:22 PM
When it’s obviously idiotic, I don’t waste my energy. That’s the bs assymetry. Don’t say stupid things, and I we will all get along.
February 8, 2025 at 5:17 PM
Here we have a BS asymmetry principle at play.

You make an idiotic claim that Israel funds Hamas directly and via Qatar. Then you are shocked that people don’t waste energy on “researching” the validity of your idiotic claim.

No energy for you to be an idiot but lots of energy to prove it.

You can hate colonizers all you want. But that would basically mean you want to unscramble a scrambled egg.

What’s needed instead is a peace process that lets this and all the future generations to live in peace.

Advocating and excusing calls to dismantle a state is pure hate and war mongering.
February 8, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Quick guide to spot a colonizer:

If a person speaks:
- Arabic
- English
- French
- Mandarin
- Russian
- Spanish
- Portuguese

But they do not live in:
- Arabian peninsula
- England
- France
- Part of China
- North-Western Russia
- Castile Spain
- Portugal

the person is a colonizer.
