Rarely mentioned fact: all of that battery capacity actually costs a lot of energy. www.caiso.com/todays-outlo... Look at the very negative "daily production" values.

No, they caved because SNAP was about to be restored, removing the leverage the Trump administration wanted.

These are Trump Democrats.

Sure, but two are retiring and the rest are not up for reelection in 2026. I think this was a carefully selected bunch.

They made the deal because the shutdown was succeeding. SNAP benefits were being restored, either by the states or through court orders. This was an intentional surrender.

Oof. Stay safe.

Republicans no longer need to win elections. That's what happened.

They're trying to recapture the Peggy Noonan loyalists now that they've lost Peggy Noonan.

Outright data fraud is “flawed”? OK. Way to brush aside corrupt science. :)

Yes, I agree RFK Jr is not taking the right approach. He’s hurting progress in this area. But painting everyone who doubts the orthodoxy in nutritional science with the same brush is disingenuous at best.

But careers and reputations have been built upon it. I was dismayed when RFK Jr and other charlatans entered the scene because reactions like yours are expected. Maybe look a bit deeper.

We do need new science, and as I've already said it's progressing at the appropriate pace. And, as I've also shown you, the "accepted" science is kind of rotten at it's root: www.scientificamerican.com/article/reco...

www.scientificamerican.com/article/reco... "Accepted" science can also be sketchy. It's things like this that have let RFK Jr in the door.

And yes, I can attribute my health improvement to eliminating seed oils and fructose. It’s been my primary dietary change for the past five years. (Replacement of poly and mono unsaturated fats with saturated ones has been most of it.) Science on that has been progressing.

The difference is I’m making a personal choice and not forcing my choices on others. Do you want to deny others the ability to make choices for themselves? Do you want to deny people from discussing their own explorations and experiences?
October 2, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Unfortunately RFK Jr mixes in batshit crazy things with others that may have some merit. Personally I've been avoiding fructose and seed oils for years and my health has benefitted as a result. I was dismayed when RFK and others on the MAGA fringe started railing against them.

Do ya'll regret pushing the "Biden old" story so aggressively yet?

Jacobson was willing to discard his detractors through a lawsuit. He lost. If he wanted to be known by scientific accomplishments alone he shouldn’t have done that. It was his choice and you’re trying to clean up long after the fact.
September 29, 2025 at 6:16 PM
Yes, you predicted that the sun will rise. Impressive. The lawsuit will be Jacobson’s legacy. Has he even paid what he owes yet? Or will ignoring his debt be in his legacy as well?
September 29, 2025 at 2:24 PM
That had the most real world impact.

Jacobson was the one suing people he disagreed with.
