Yet another writer: THE GHOST WHO BLED (2017), THE DEVIL'S HIGHWAY (2018), THE REPUBLIC OF BREATH and SWEENEY'S PROGRESS (forthcoming). Environmentalist. Lives in Sheffield.
On the same day, Farage has been found guilty of seventeen breaches of the MPs code of conduct - for failing to declare £333,000 in outside interests - and has told an audience in Davos that Trump ought to have Greenland.

A conman and a traitor.

Loser 'windmills' currently generating over half Britain's electricity.

Trump: "There are windmills all over Europe. There are windmills all over the place. And they are losers."

UK's National Grid right now: wind is providing over half our electricity.

Day four of our air-to-water heat pump installation.

It is dying. It awaits rebirth in a new form.

Day three of our air-to-water heat pump installation. It's a bit of a beast, but nothing some landscaping (thinking of a cornus hedge for summer and winter colour) cannot soften. Tomorrow, the internal work starts.

Delighted to see that @joannapocock.bsky.social's GREYHOUND is the book of the week in THE WEEK.

Bloody autocorrect: I keep trying to type 'ice' on my phone and it comes out as 'kkk'.

I own the complete works of Shakespeare so you all need to thank me for HAMLET and KING LEAR.

Day two of our air source heat pump installation. It looks grim for now. Images 1 & 2: the trench for the pipes to our house, where the cylinder will go. Image 3: prepping for the concrete platform for the outdoor unit. (Most properties don't need to do this but can install against the house.)

Our garden is undergoing open heart surgery. Stage one of installing an air source heat pump. When it's done, we will be a fossil fuel free home - so worth the horticultural distress.

Disappointing lack of fauns wearing scarves, though.

Ecclesall Woods, Sheffield, in the snow today. I never cease to marvel that we have such a place within our city.

Few things more full of life than a dead tree. Here's (I think) some crimped gill fungus on a bed of moss fruiting from a fallen oak. Sounds almost yummy, doesn't it?

And the other two prairie states also have abundant PV potential.

I find this distasteful and despicable.

Christmas has come early for me, thanks to my friend, the brilliant @zaraslattery.bsky.social. One of the v few self-printed copies of volume one of our graphic novel, SWEENEY'S PROGRESS. A labour of love for both of us.

One day a publisher may agree and publish it *prays to the comics gods*

Disappointing. The Norwegians should have sharper memories of Nazism.

Here's the text. In bold: hen harriers lost or killed on or near a shooting estate

Scientists calculate that English habitats currently support only 10% of the hen harriers that they could carry if there were no illegal persecution.

Data compiled from the archive of @raptorpersuk.bsky.social.

Working on a text for an artistic collaboration with sculptor Mark Butler about the hen harrier.

How's this for a stat? English habitats currently support only 10% of the hen harriers that they could carry if there were no illegal persecution.
