We rushed him to the vet, but he didn't have a heartbeat, and there was just no saving him.
The surgery was necessary, and he wouldn't have survived much longer and would have suffered without it. We knew there was a risk with the surgery, but he needed it. We had to try.

He explained that five of his organs (liver, pancreas, small intestine, stomach, and gallbladder) had to be moved from the chest cavity to the abdominal cavity and his spleen had to be removed because there was no room for it.
