Hopefully this becomes a thing to bridge the gap between maximum profit and customer wants. It also incentivises consumers to keep with the company for the discount at the end, like a carrot on a stick.

Even if you cancel and resubscribe under the same details, the discount stays.
Optionally, companies can offer bigger discounts the longer you stick with them. For example, after 10 years of being with Company A’s streaming, you get to use it for 50% off, or even for free!
