I still haven’t managed to quit Twitter— perhaps because I can now write and rate community notes, which I use primarily for fact-checking Republicans. But it makes no difference to them, or anyone, it appears. So maybe this will be my last tweet.

It's staggering how much the Republican party has changed in terms of how it views immigration. Nobody would have ever called George HW or Reagan a liberal, and yet their positions were far more liberal than not just Biden, but any Democrat or Republican (to my knowledge) has been since.

I think about this often. Why is Matt Gaetz still allowed to make decisions on behalf of the country? Jim Jordan? Josh Hawley? Clarence Thomas? We now have people in elected offices who ran on their denial of the legitimacy of the election. Even if Trump goes to *prison*, would that change anything?
