There isn't an ounce of leftism in the United States. Right wingers have had everything done their way; even in the 1950's many of them want to go back to. The problems of now are the result of their right-wing ideology. You can't solve a problem by doing what caused the problem in the first place

Here is section 740 of the DC home rule law. What I dont see is anything about the president bringing in the national guard; it only states that the president may use the DC police for federal purposes. It also states that he can only do so for 30 days without Congress's permission.

I fail to see the downside of Democrats doing exactly what Texas is trying to do. Langworthy and Stefanik can just deal with it.

The 'good ole days' weren't better; You were naïve. Glorifying the past won't solve any of our problems. Most of the problems of today were the mistakes of that past; and thinking the same way that created a problem would not help solve it.
