They aren’t afraid of us at all. They don’t care what we say, we are a necessary inconvenience at best.

I’m in California and in my town our downtown main st has been closed to cars since 2020. They have tried to reopen it multiple times, getting voted down by the public so what do they do? Create little schemes to override the will of us. How is that allowed? How does my vote matter?

Do what you gotta do for you. I’m not voting federally unless the PSL candidates make it to the ballot, with I doubt will happen because someone will sue them to prevent it. Which is wild because how can you sue to keep someone off of a ballot? Ain’t this a democracy? We all know the answer is no

Paywalls are easy to get around and with a VPN, finding the right thread on Reddit and some proxy configurations on your local machine everything is available. The internet of the 2000s still exists, just overseas. You have to actively choose inconvenience vs the availability of modern American tech

Do you want to live in a world without access to information on demand? It’s a very scary thought. Personally, I think the internet should be open source and run through the library system. Software should all be free, open source, encrypted and federally funded.

Keep in mind AI firms buy stolen data as well. Imagine a world in which scam callers are AI and they know all of your personal details, they just need verbal confirmation over the phone as they are indistinguishable from a phone rep at a real business. And GenZ fall for these scams more than boomers

Another fun fact, all of your data has already been stolen as firms prop up profits selling it to 3rd party vendors. While Meta for example may have a SOC2 certification, the brokers they sell to have easily decrypted auth. Those firms are constantly hacked and data is sold over the dark web

I work in tech and guys, it’s going to get worse. AI is resource intensive and the more advanced it gets, the more energy and bandwidth it needs. Our infrastructure is decades old and you will see soon that the internet will be prioritized for commercial enterprise vs consumers due to this
