i love this :)

of course. *hug* :)

i mean, there's lots of good, slow songs on that album, eg: "fingers of love" and "catherine wheels" but i just like the feel of "private universe" a lot.

amazing song.

i think it might well be my favourite on "together alone." [but there's other slow songs on there that i like a great deal, also.]

i definitely agree with this idea.

down is the new up is AMAZING.

there's trial versions that they did in concert before finally rejecting it for in_rainbows itself, and some of those are really good, too:

here's the debut version, where the drums sort of matter a lot:

it's really cool and i love that sort of historical line you can trace with some bands.

and that's why i think "ok computer" is "important" historically [but i will concede and agree with the notion that you can read "important" in many ways.]
November 24, 2024 at 10:40 AM
you can trace a clear line from "pablo honey" right up until the final chords of "the bends." they're both "basically aligned" in the way they sound and present.

what comes after is massively important for them, because while there's still traces of that, there, now they're more expansive.
November 24, 2024 at 10:39 AM
when i think of "important" in this sense, i think of it as the album that broke them out of the spell of being "just another seattle-like grunge-band."

a lot of little things happened on that album - most notably, i think, nigel godrich nudging them to do things they might not have previously.
November 24, 2024 at 10:37 AM
have you ever listened to disk 2?

there's a lot of good stuff on there, also.
November 24, 2024 at 10:34 AM
i keep coming back to in_rainbows.

it's a ridiculously good album.

oh. i did some research. but it's very mild research. he quit bluesky and told people to stay on the other site.

so, my thoughts about him are entirely validated.

what an incompetent boob.

note that: i don't trust this site overmuch. the owner/person who steers it basically said "hey, i trust the other guy on the other site!"

but i'm going to watch and see what comes of that person's choices.

[hint: i'm not overly optimistic.]
