It's nice seeing them stick together and do well in multiple tournaments. Hope we see more groups like this

TLDR pick things for a reason and dont get stuck overcooking your ideas just keep the goal in mind and just play until you figure out what works for your goal and what doesn't.

This was written on a whim so its not that thorough but i wanted to say something.

also theory crafting wont help any if you dont actually play the weapons. the best way to know if something works is to TRY IT.
you can spend 10000 hours making the idea and comp but if you never actually play the game then you wont get anywhere.

when you build team comps you pick stuff for a reason, if you don't have a goal with your weapon or aren't sure what to do with it THEN DONT PICK IT. picking things because they're "meta" or strong wont get you anywhere if you don't have a direction for your pick.

That's all.
Remember that while losing feels discouraging at first, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. No one cares if you or even the top JP players lose a couple of games, its not going on public record.

As long as you come in with the right mindset you'll come out a better player.

5. Skill level

Lastly, I'd like to add that by playing in the JP region, if you do manage to climb high you'll be playing against a huge variety of incredibly skilled players, far more than you'll be able to find in the west. This is why I'll always advocate for JP over EUNA if you're good enough.

4. Individual practice

The ONLY thing you can change about your matches is yourself. So if you want to improve in X, you're going to have to take a very direct approach and look at what you're doing, and then figure out what you need to change.

Unlike a scrim, you're all on your own here.

Essentially, you'll be building up your "memory" of situations. With enough practice you'll know what to do in almost ANY situation. Why? Because you've played it before (in X rank).

You don't need to "understand" exactly why you're doing what you are, as long as it works we're on the right track.

-and thus you will eventually round yourself out as a player. It's no coincidence the top JP players are also the top X rank players. Continuously playing so many different types of matches at a high level with different opponents and teammates, will in fact teach you A LOT about the game.

3. Exposure

You will encounter a huge variety of weapons and situations. No two matches will be the same. Essentially, to keep a positive win/loss ratio you need to be able to adapt and read these situations properly. Any weak point you have will eventually be exposed to throughout your matches-

2. Accuracy

Sorry to say it, but your XP will be roughly at your skill level, even if it doesn't feel that way at first.
Your XP is based off your win/loss ratio so over time the matchmaking will rate you accordingly and you'll find practice at roughly the same skill level as you.

1. Accessibility

To play X rank, all you need to do is queue. No teammates required, no looking for scrims. Sure, you might want to wait for a certain rotation, but given you find one you want to play you're all set.
(Additionally this also means you cannot be denied/gatekept practice either)

On top of the aforementioned there is a vast amount of analytical content for you to learn from. Of course there will always be room for improvement but it's literally the best it's ever been. You're not gonna skyrocket into high level from day one but if you have the right approach you'll get there

Can't find scrims or pickups? Play SendouQ.
Need individual practice? X rank is right there.
Unsure what to do ingame? Watch replays.
Want to get into +? Ask players for pickups or just get in through SendouQ.
It's really not that difficult you just need to take the initiative and use what you have.

Totally agree, its about building strong fundamentals and understanding about the game, not looking at what the “meta” is and copying that.

Additionally, using meta comps won’t help you win if you don’t understand the fundamentals.
