‘Chitrangada Singh’ done as a practice piece. I chose this for the fabric, the hair and the skin tones. For once I was very happy with the result. A4 on canvas (this image slightly cropped).NFS

I was taking down an exhibition when I noticed a teenager staring at this. “Do you like it?” I asked. “ Yes,” she said, “the colours, the mystery.” So I took it down and gave her it. Why not? I don’t need the money and if I can bring joy to someone I will. Actually it turned out to be her birthday.

Finally finished. Abstract Landscape’Rain over the Hills’. Acrylic on linen, 12”x16” (30x40 cm). I’d always fancied painting on linen but it took a while to find some pre-framed, I’m not totally sure I’ll go back to it. Two other wip are now looking at me expectantly.
