I am not impressed by my inbox situation and its only Tuesday, the only reasonable solution may be to ignore most of it and see what ends up coming back for a second approach

It tracks for me

I always thought that was the job of the experimenter! i.e. to come up with a strong null model and test the results against it. It says something about what's happened to the culture in science when this is absent.

at least here in north america you are an ECR for a long time then there are seemingly 5-10 minutes when you are mid-career and then suddenly you are senior 🤷‍♂️ I think it relates ultimately to how admin can slot us into admin roles
