I'm so keen for my books, however, down in Australia, so I'll be patient.

The funny thing is i reckon the negotiation rules in Draw Steel being rejigged for "bartering" rules could work.

I would also have one that says "don't ask me what every NPC's name is"

Only another day until PAX Aus! I've got my bag packed, and everything else ready for running Fragged Kingdom 2 this weekend. I'm only running a couple of games, but if you wanna meet me in person, I'll be in the ARC area Friday, 7pm-9pm and Saturday 3pm-5pm.

There's a fair few paladins and warlocks in the new CR line up. And I thought about why that is. I think one reason might be because paladins and warlocks are not only mechanically strong as classes in 5e 2024 but also have RP touchstones. An otherworldly patron. A god they swore an oath to. #ttrpg

Beware the dreaded dimmerwood trees of Equinox — it's Day 4 of #ttrpgpromptober in Draw Steel! (No clue how to set EV for DTOs, honestly. But the vibes are right!) #promptober #drawsteel #darkwoods
Draw Steel Promptober ‘25
Day #4: Dark Woods
Dimmerwood Trees	DTO
Originally cultivated on Equinox, dimmerwood trees appear on Orden as oily, liquid shadows, like ink or charcoal drawings made real. They make for a more subtle form of protection and obscurement, favored by denizens of the wode who don’t want visitors. Dimmerwood seeds are prized magical reagents; graduates of the College of Black Ash are known to harvest them for use in their shadow magic.

Dimmerwood Grove
Level 3 Relic Hexer	EV 12

These inky black trees seem to absorb light from the surrounding area, instilling nearby creatures with a constant sense of dread.
Stamina: 15 per square	Size: 2

Deactivate: The grove must be completely destroyed. Each time one square of the grove is destroyed, the size of the grove’s aura decreases by 2 (to a minimum of 1).

Looming Dread: The dimmerwood grove projects a 1 aura of viscous shadow. At the start of each turn while at least one square of the grove is intact, the size of the aura increases by 1. Each creature in the area is frightened of each other creature in the area. When the size of the aura reaches 10, each creature in the area takes 10 corruption damage, and the aura resets to 1.

What Was That?! Creatures in the grove’s aura have concealment. Whenever a creature in the grove’s aura hides, they may make a % free strike before hiding and teleport to any other unoccupied space in the aura after hiding.

I've begun plotting out stat blocks for the next Raiders of the Serpent Sea session. Since none of my players are on here, I can talk about my ideas! The frost giants are themed with Roman/Greek roles: hypaspist, myrmidon and peltast. When creatures are more organised, there are more terrifying!

You say this in jest, but my players always ask for a name. Luckily, 90% of the time, I have a prepared list of names.

I had a blast writing this Draw Steel adventure! It’s even got forking paths: your players can choose between the scenic route and the… Violent route ⚔️

Nothing like blaring some Dyanzty into my ears and making some ttrpg battle maps on a Thursday night.

One thing that'll be different for me at PAX Aus this year is that I'll actually be able to attend the seminars/live plays! Last couple of years, I put my hand up to help out and run games like Relics and Fragged Empire. But this year, I'm doing less of that. More time for fun! #ttrpg #PAXAus

Iirc this game is produced right here in Melbourne! Nice to see this game studio get some praise.

Another great home game of Raiders of the Serpent Sea last night. The raiders are hot on the frost giants' trail of destruction. Tried out new homebrewed stat blocks (as always). In this campaign, I've included retainers from MCDM's Flee Mortals. Really adds that "Viking" fantasy imo.

A parody D&D book cover titled 'Legend of the Affordable House.' It features a cheerful adventuring party—including an orc, wizard, warrior, and halflings—standing proudly in front of a cozy two-story cottage. The caption reads, 'In this imaginary fantasy setting, you CAN afford a home for the whole party.'
