I took this screenshot at 11:53 Pacific time. As another long time Unsounded fan, I’m looking forward to her finishing Unsounded soon! She’s almost done with the epilogue, so this is guaranteed not to become an abandoned, unfinished comic!
Congrats to Ashley and Iron Circus.

Finally made it to Iron Mountain 2 (there are 3 in the San Gabriel Mtns) on the 5th try! This time I heard a mountain lion growl at me but did not see it in the chaparral. Also found a dead tarantula.

Flowers and waterfalls in Trail Canyon, near Tujunga in Los Angeles. The lupines I saw lots of two weeks ago are almost finished now, but there were a lot of Humboldt’s lilies along the stream yesterday.

Finally got my little plaque! I waited patiently for someone to have extra invites so I could get off Twitter, since we half expected it to implode any day given the change of ownership

A loud rustling in my tree turned out to be three small, young and rather awkward raccoons. They were hilariously bad at turning around on the fence.

Your honor, with all due respect, I’m still a rock star, I’ve got my rock moves, and I don’t need you.
Your honor, with all due respect, I drove my chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry.

I can't talk about dogs, but my indoor cats were spayed young, simply because they were miserable when in heat. Those cats lived to well over a decade each, so I never regretted it. It wasn't about vigilance (not much needed since they were indoor anyway), but about their quality of life.

Strange encounter: I’m out for a walk today in leopard print sweats and a rainbow stripe t shirt. A man in an old pickup slows, says “Happy new year! Don’t forget to vote for Trump!” “Hah!” I say, thinking,….joke? He drives off calling, “he loves the constitution!” …maybe not a joke, yikes.

Welcome to Bluesky, we have rules here:

1. Do not put your faith in a cape and a hood, they will not protect you the way that they should

2. Take extra care with strangers

3. Even flowers have their dangers

4. Although scary is exciting, nice is different than good
