I nearly dropped him at the Leeds gig. He just let himself topple off right on top of me when I my attention was directed at the rest of the band. His face must have been really close to the floor when we did catch him.

Ah, the urban myth of the Hootenanny being recorded months in advance. Can you perhaps think up something slightly more factual? I worked on Later for 18yrs and the earliest pre-record was Dec 6 and the latest was Dec 17. Also recorded some weeks after many Christmas TV too.
