Interested in just about everything. Finally decided to join instead of having to click links to so many different wonderful people to keep up.
Monuments celebrating a free society's greatness look like the USAID program used to look.

And the billionaires, in this case the Newhouse families?, take down yet another. Teen Vogue came out of left field covering politics but with so few outlets having a couragous voice, much less a young perspective.. well in hindsight, not surpising they got done in. Billionaires gonna billionaire.

That he did! If talking about her life experience that phrase might sense because you're trying to speak from her viewpoint. But even then only maybe and sorta. Regardless, as I remember it, he was not speaking in that context. He was other-ing his own children.

Some real "Largest Crowd Ever. Period." energy there.

They do not see that if it was always so, generations going from better to worse, we would have long since descended to a level of badness beyond which it is impossible to go.

The very start of book 2. I have told that story many times 😁

Just found that out from your post. And I was looking forward to joining 10,000 of my fellow Ashevillians but I'm not doing sundown and phones for flashlights. Hendersonville, Black Mountain, and others have times ranging from mid morning to mid afternoon. Maybe I'll do more than one! 🚫👑🎉

In general you want to be guarded about using more torque to break something loose than the bolts are designed for as a matter of material specs. Ask me how I know. Or, er, don't. Painful memories...

The problem can be that stripping thread or snapping bolts can be a MUCH bigger problem. The upper bolts of the rear shocks on a TJ wranger connect to nuts which are tack-welded onto the body sheet metal where they can't be accessed without cutting into the interior sheet metal. Break those welds?

I have many pipe breaker bars :-) They are my friends. Unless they are not... Lemme see if I can do a thread here...

Can confirm as someone who has hired for highly technical, and well paid, roles. A consistently strong group were dual majors - a science and a humanity. Oberlin. Bowdoin. Give me a dual major like that? You're in for an interview. And those people advanced the farthest the fastest in their careers.

You seem to know your business at least as well as me. But when I needed to change the shocks on my wife's 20yo Jeep Wranger, I WD-40'd the bolts every day or two for a week or three before I even tried to break them loose. I didn't need the torch in the end, but I was ready...

Maybe I missed something Re "hmmm...what's still hidden and why" but he posted only what GWS asks as a remedy. That may look great for Ghamak raising money. It shows nothing on details GWS provides on enfringement. If, as he says elsewhere, the claims are without merit, I'd expect to see the details

In 2011, Obama claimed his 2009 tariffs on tires from China saved 1,000 jobs. But it cost consumers over a Billion dollars in the same year. In other words, we could have paid each of those people $100,000 for doing nothing and still saved 1 Billion dollars for Americans to spend on other things.

Funny, I got that exact message from some unknown number a while back! My name's not Sarah so I deleted it without a second thought, as one does these days.

Free rain you say? I take it autocorrect strikes again 😀

But given the would-be King and his Court behind this, I did not find "free reign" out of place.

Oh man. Not Powell's?

Thanks for this reminder. The profound humanity of His Holiness Pope Francis has been an inspiration and comfort in these deeply troubling times and drew me back into engagement with the Church.

That's a very good read and, while I am ever mindful of immediate harms being done - how can anyone not be - it is encouraging for a not too far off long view. Thanks for sharing.

Is there a legal basis here for a real lawyer to even write a complaint that a real lawyer might not be ashamed of? Based on the first complaint I'm thinking maybe no?

I don't remember ever feeling compelled to click Like on every post in a thread before now.
Bravo! Bravo 👏

More than once in my many years.

It's not a deep answer but my first thought was a song I'll put on repeat while driving tiny mountain roads going nowhere in particular while I'm in that mood

Any Old Road
(Will Take You There)
by Balsam Range

Others have sung much the same but that's my go-to

Although the connection did get me to search "bronze age evaporative cooling" again! I first looked into it years ago and it came in handy a couple of times on long desert drives with no car ac. Sadly it's not much of an option in the humidity of North Carolina (even in Asheville)
