The final thing I'll say on the matter, is that, if the government decided that SUV's were now illegal, and that citizens had to turn them in or risk arrest but they would only pay out below market rate to the first 10,000, people would say it was over reach. I say the same with this ruling

Unfortunately, there is not something I could use instead, as I see this as part of my collection.
The fact that I had to pass the RPAL course, and it was legal to own at the time of purchase is what really makes me reticent.

I use it for target shooting, primarily. I also got it because I'm a bit of a weapons/military nerd so most of my firearms are military surplus. The rifle i have that is currently banned is a T-81 rifle with an underfolder chambered in 5.56, it's surplus from the Chinese.

And once October hits, any legal gun owner who still has those weapons will be made a felon. So my choices are, sell weapon fast to the government at a loss, sell slow and maybe get nothing. Or don't sell, and even though I've followed every law to this point, become a criminal

But I would say that he is taking people's gun, the rule law says that any firearm that falls under the prohibited mandate has to be handed in, and or rendered inoperable by October '26. These firearms can be used, transported, or sold in the meantime.

It's ok. I understand you're not coming from an aggressive place.
I understand that private gun owners aren't going to be some insurgent force to be reckoned with. My main issue is that these concerns do exist, and my little leftist heart feel bad that my ability to do something is being taken
January 20, 2026 at 10:27 PM
I hope they would, but they would be very hesitant to do it for fear of those same tactics being used against the Canadian government at a later point in time.
January 20, 2026 at 8:20 PM
My dude. I got the email. They're banning basically any semi automatic rifle. And they're offering me 1000 bucks on a 1200 dollar gun. Meanwhile they're offering a friend 600 for a rifle that costs 400. They're saying they only have enough funds and once they're out your gun is still illegal

And yet Mark Carney wanta to take away out guns with a failing buyback program

The mbepe effect, is the thought, that hot water freezes faster than cold water. This is generally untrue, though I will link this article www.scientificamerican.com/article/is-i...
Which states that hot water over a wide surface area will freeze faster than luke warm water.
Does Hot Water Really Freeze Faster Than Cold Water?
Some people swear that hot water freezes faster than cold water. Here’s what science has to say about it

As for water, it is normal water, but hot, not cold. Hot water is used mainly because it contains less gas bubbles, it also helps when filling in cracks and gouges left by skaters, softening them so that it can better fill in any voids. There's also the mbepe effect to take into account

Cross cutting is essential, because if you do your normal pattern (image one) constantly, the pressure of the tires on the ice creates indents over time from compacting the ice, since you're driving over the same areas. Crosscutting helps flatten that out.
January 13, 2026 at 7:57 PM
The second pattern in called a cross cut. It is used usually at the beginning of a day before you do a regular pattern. Once again you will begin by going around the perimeter twic You will not be putting down water doing this pattern, instead you are just taking up old ice using the Zamboni blade.
January 13, 2026 at 7:50 PM
Yes, there are set patterns for putting ice down on a rink. There are two main ones employed the first image I made shows the regular pattern used when making a sheet of ice. With basically all patterns first the perimeter is gone over twice, giving you an area to turn in. Then this pattern is used

What questions do you have? It's a small bit of an autistic fascination of mine so I could go on way more than the word limit on here
January 13, 2026 at 7:32 PM
As a Zamboni driver I wanted this article to go even more into the ice making process. Is -8°c the best temperature for making ice? How does the filtering system work? General speed of Zamboni, and level of flow rate as well as blade depth, and what kind of sprayers do they use for the hose flood

Absolutely disgusting. You know if Biden was still President he'd be kissing THEIR asses, like it's supposed to go.
