The jig is up: Trump wants more manufacturing in the US and is pushing for robotic workers. So very few Americans will actually benefit from moving things onshore.

This will create a much poorer middle class. Working people's party - my ass. www.politico.com/news/2025/12...
After AI push, Trump administration is now looking to robots
It's the latest example of how the Trump administration is embracing industrial policy in a bid to compete against Beijing in critical sectors.

Post the DOGE purges and amateur computer systems access, what issues are average Americans seeing? It feels like this fell off the radar. Long wait times, lines, unavailable services. What are you seeing or hearing.

Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity
Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Is there really only one person that has the power to decide whether the house is in session? What if someone else just showed up and gavelled the house to order. Could be a Democrat if that's who showed up. Maybe that would cause the showdown we need. Just declare... against the rules or not.

Chip Roy (r) Texas is floating the nuclear option for the budget. If that happens, we lose all leverage over health insurance and a host of other things. I don't know that there would be any options other than a filibuster.

Republicans have condemned 14 million people to death over the next 5 years. With a single signature on day 1 of his administration trump defunded USAID. 4.5 million of those corpses will be kids under 5. Read the article here. newsroom.ucla.edu/stories/USAI.... Nobody in congress has pushed back.
USAID cuts may lead to more than 14 million deaths globally, including 4.5 million children under 5 by 2030, researchers say
The figures reflect the projected consequences of halting funding.

We are in a cold civil war. Its cold only because there is just one side that has guns and proved its willingness to use them against us.

Republicans in congress seem to be okay with the administration's rein of terror against America. They and all who voted for them are complicit. Remember that as the force ratchets up with tanks and drones. Saving us seems to be nobody's job.

Trump Appointees Roll Back Enforcement of Fair Housing Laws (NYT). Trump is finally bringing discrimination back to housing. Of course, one of the unwritten goals of Republicans is to create a caste system. It is succeeding.

Republicans just grabbed more power. They voted to use a simple majority in confirming Trump nominees. This is the "nuclear option". It completely negates Democratic votes and increases the velocity with which scumbags are brought in to run the government.

LA Times reports the Supreme court has upheld the administration's ability to have roving law enforcement on the streets for DHS. They will be able to stop ppl based on the color of their skin or language they speak.

A beatdown in broad daylight was caught on video: Masked men in tactical vests grappled, tased, and piled onto a delivery worker. Pinning the worker face down on the pavement, agents tased him again and punched him repeatedly in the head.
Federal Agents Are the New Proud Boys
It used to be far-right groups who flooded cities wearing masks and military gear, looking for a fight. Now it’s anonymous federal agents who are violently attacking people on the street.

Questions for Teachers

For those of you who teach social studies... are you planning to change anything in your lessons about the constitution? The bill of rights? The Supreme Court? Checks and balances? Coequal branches? Church and state?

I am genuinely curious.

Food Pantry Support... now that the &%$^& bill has been passed, food pantries are going to be suffering. If you are able, please set aside $5, $10 or $20/week shop the sales, and donate that to a local pantry. See their website or call to find out what items they need.

In a couple of months kids will go back to school. What will we be teaching them in Social Studies? Are we still going to tell them about the constitution, checks and balances? Co-equal branches? Are we going to teach them that we live in a democracy? What will we say about free speech?

The LA mayor lifted the curfew yesterday. What does she have to say about the recent brutality of her police force? Let's not forget videos of people being trampled and beaten by mounted police, being shot, pushed to the ground. All with no care for the victims afterward.

New York Times reports that the Senate passed a crypto currency bill with bipartisan support. 68 senators voted for it. How are the Dems still working with Republicans? Gee, I wonder who benefits from this bill?
