There is no coincidence. The (re)discovery of the discrete fast Fourier transform in 1965 by Cooley and Tukey made these schemes possible.

I’m sure the devil is in the details, but I am a bit puzzled from just reading Wikipedia. This seems like basic signals processing with Fourier transforms? It’s math, not black magic.

I feel like the real unbridled sorcery is semiconductor fabrication. Like nobody can match TSMC. Even TSMC themselves can’t reproduce their SOTA in another country. RF seems fairly simple by comparison.

If so he’s doing a really bad job of it. I can think of underlying reasons for that closure that would either condemn the runner or vindicate him. Considering he had some outdoor org advocating for the runner, I’m inclined to think he might actually not be a bad guy. Broken clock and all that re TFG
