Master of Piece was the coolest game I played at PAX West 2025 and it's now finally out in early access!

A very interesting mix of something like Into the Breach meets Chess, it's got great art style and great decision making choices throughout […]

A game I’ve been following for years: Into the Grid. A cyberpunk hacking deckbuilder straight out of Neuromancer.

Great visual style, lots of crunchy decision to be made on the overworld hacking map, and some unique takes on card based combat systems! […]

What better way to start a new podcast season than with shouting matches over a children’s game?

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon is a beloved classic for many, but does it hold up for men in their 30s playing it for the first time? A question every podcast tries to answer at some point… […]

The final podcast of 2025 is up, featuring developer interviews from this summer's excursion out to PAX West!

Always way too much to see, especially if you only have a 1-day pass to go see it. 3-day next year maybe?

When gaming in 2055 is all online subscription based nonsense, I guess I’ll just continue to play Dwarf Fortress on whatever crumbling piece of hardware I still have that isn’t wired into my brain.

Now obviously when you run a podcast on roguelike games, you tend to see the concept everywhere.

First episode of Severance and I get jumpscared by the main player character from Cogmind!

With 500+ survivor-likes on Steam, what better way to cap off season 3 of the pod with one of the best?

Halls of Torment takes a more coherent and serious approach to the Vampire Survivors formula in a great Diablo 1 aesthetic.

The first entry in my mini-reviews series: Three Against The Odds.

A wild mix of wacky writing, charm, and something that looks like a traditional roguelike and a 4X game after they both fell into a blender.

Someone suggested we set up a Steam curator, so I did and we occasionally get sent some review copies to check out.

I can't promise that we'll get to all of them, but I can at least help spread the word!

I'll try to keep them contained under #grogpodminis for the time being.

Craig Hamilton composed the incredible soundtrack to Caves of Qud. Seeing the technicality and expressiveness from one of my favorite tracks really underscores how much care and effort went into the atmosphere and world building to the game.
