an account on the fediverse (another social media type deal) wants to interact with a post on your profile. in order to let them do that you need to bridge your account over by following the bot!

The concern most people have is that signing up is hard (or rather, finding an instance is hard). If you're not quite sure what an instance is, you might want to watch the video above. Two good starter instances are:

app.wafrn.net (similar to tumblr)

ActivityPub is just about the easiest thing to self host, too. Someone made a complete AP server in a single PHP file

... It's not true ? Like... You can easily switch instances and it's like that from years now. Why talk when you clearly don't know this protocol? Also you can have a solo instance and then you possessed all ur data.
