Since I can't buy seeds for it (because the crows gifted it to me) I let the Miner's Lettuce go to seed so I could be sure to have plenty of seedlings for next year.

I think it worked.🌱

Wasn't really paying attention this year and my Tristar strawberries produced a ton of runners. I decided to pot them up, but metal clips weren't really working in this soil to fix the stolons to the soil so I went with broken terracotta. If the hive mind has a better way to do this I'm all ears. 🌱

Testing candidate #2 tomatoes tonight, the flavor is getting really nice now, more intense and still well balanced. The brix continues to rise too, up to 7+. Pretty sure this is the one I'll be moving forward with. 🌱

I grew an emoji! 🍅 Candidate plant 3 is producing bog standard red slicers that look like they were cut from the cover of a Burpee catalog. Hopefully they'll taste good but if not candidate plant 2 has the type of red-tomato flavor that I'm looking for and it's very productive. 🌱

First #SquirrelCrimes update: no additional squirrel crimes have been detected, well that isn't entirely true, my local tomato thief seems to be going through withdrawals. Either that or he's just throwing a tantrum to protest the new tomato security measures. 🌱

I'm really digging version one of the stacked tomato trellis design that I put together this year. It still needs work, it's not very stable horizontally and it will hold together better if I make the grooves in the supports with a t-channel router bit but it's working the way I'd hoped it would. 🌱
Pictured is the stacked tomato trellis design that I've been working on. It consists of two chevrons made of pallet wood that support the sides and two additional pieces that support the end with the trellis itself being made of cattle panels that are mounted horizontally on top of one another. So far it's been working very well. I have ideas for how to improve it for next year.
