This is the Greater London Authority tax which is paid *on top of* local Borough council tax. e.g. In Kingston you'd pay £2413.47 total.

The railway station is in the wrong direction for a huge chunk of Oxford residents, and Paddington is barely London. Plus it’s always been much cheaper.

If this is a hospital then the hot side is very likely thermostatically controlled (i.e. mixes hot and cold) so the historic reasons don't even apply. It's just cargo-culting how things have always been done.

I have one of those cube fridges in my van. As well as the bouncing from driving it is often stowed on its side when not in use. I make zero effort to settle it before switching it on. It is still alive.

Please stop talking about "cyclists" as if that's a single group who all had a big meeting and decided to ignore red lights.

The various people who use bicycles for transport have made decisions on that point independently.
