I don’t think so. It’s always a brutal trip, even before the fascism - and they are so old + frail. I know that I need to find my way down to see them, but there’s just so much dread and fear attached to it all now. They also live in a very red state in the south. It’s all so complicated and hard. 💔

If/when I do get down there, I don’t think I want to bring my partner and teen along, if only because I want to keep them safe.
