Trump: "We took the freedom of speech away because that's been through the courts and the courts said you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag it agitates and irritates crowds."

I would like to speak your manager.

If this were North Korea you wouldn’t be able to post that.

Really depends what type of watch speaks to you. There’s so much variety. So many types. I’d need to see some hints what you like. My other suggestion would be to go watch shopping, in person. All watches look and play differently in person than they do in photos or videos.

I will add that this is not like North Korea. It’s like the cheap Temu knock-off of North Korean “Dear Leader” cult worship. It’s embarrassing as hell, and must be denounced, but more importantly it must be mocked. It’s our mockery that makes clear this is just kayfabe authoritarianism.

“This is deeply troubling and legally invalid,” Primus wrote in an email to The Wall Street Journal.

This is a real photograph of Washington, DC this week, where the United States president has ordered military occupation in peacetime, and ordered the display of colossal portraits of himself.

I don't think it's true that Calvin always won, or even ever won, Calvinball. As I recall Hobbes was just as adept if not more so and the nature of the game was that it was an endless series of oneupmanship that led to de facto ties.

VP JD Vance is opining on the Bolton case on television. Before we had an authoritarian tyrant running the government, the VP would say that it's in the hands of the DOJ and refuse to comment.

But he's a motor mouth who can't help strutting and posing about everything just like his boss.

"I've got an exclusive for you. We're offering Google $34.5 billion to buy Chrome."

"You're not talking to anyone else?"

"Nope, exclusive for the Journal. I definitely do not have a colleague sitting next to me on the phone with Bloomberg as we speak."
Screenshots of WSJ and Bloomberg, both reporting on Perplexity’s stunt offer to “buy” Google Chrome, with the WSJ claiming “Exclusive”. The stories were published at 11:30am and 11:38am respectively.

A better Tim (Snyder) wrote,
“Most of the power of authoritarianism is freely given. In times like these, individuals think ahead about what a more repressive government will want, and then offer themselves without being asked. A citizen who adapts in this way is teaching power what it can do.”

What exactly do you see as “falling in line” here?
