True, but in many cases you can eat your cake and have it, too. Commercial rooftop solar, shaded/paneled parking lots, and a bunch of other ways to dual-duty solar capture without creating a gray, photovoltaic hellscape.

I live in an apartment building, so my solve was to pay for it elsewhere. 🤝

I bought a small solar share in a community solar farm in upstate New York and didn't have to feed the meter for about 3 years. It was a remarkably cost effective.

I'd love to see a companion bill that allows you to "trade" your balcony solar for double-square footage on a locally-owned solar farm.

I love solar farms—I really do. But slapdash panels that provide a fraction of output with accompanying aesthetic blight to rile up naysayers ain't it.

It really does; wrote about this in my recent michaelgruen.com/now entry.

And while it may not be the most popular opinion, but I'm increasingly a fan of OSS with paid licensing (e.g., n8n.com, cal.com, etc.)

Thinking about releasing some of my own homegrown work in that vein.

To be fair, it’s the most data-backed, rational decision this administration has made yet.

No, because I’d actually buy this.

Depends on how confident you are in your mounting skills.

I used to stow my bike on the wall with a wheel hook. If you have some unused space it works real well above something else not the floor.

Or a bike lift if you like contraptions.
