Rewrote my bulk plan from last year on stream this morning & got asked to share.

Feel freed to copy/adjust/etc. I use my own terminology for some stuff but usually a quick google can clarify if any of its confusing.

These are 2-2.5 hour workouts (except leg days bc fuck those they’re an hour)

Like I’m not crazy here, right? Those books had an insane amount of DEPTH & the target demographic doesn’t change how heavy the themes are…?

*so if you’ve ever wondered what the big tattoo on my left shoulder is, it’s an Om symbol I got after finishing my RYT 200 to commemorate my achievement.

So while I practice yoga occasionally, I’m not the yogi I once was & it makes me sad.

Studios these days are very tight knit & finding a job teaching without being established in a community is much harder than it was.

I still hold some of that residual flexibility but I do miss what I once had.

My style was dependent upon physical presence - & I was a very hands on teacher (consensually)

What I could teach online just never fully sat with me & so I practiced at home alone & realized my teaching was so heavily intertwined with my practice that without it…I didn’t really have one.

After my certification, I taught workshops around the country - primarily inversion & arm balance stuff

But I also developed class series based on the chakras & energy channels, breath classes for wine tastings, & even rock yoga for stress where students would scream at the top of their lungs.

The picture below is my greatest achievement. I had to film a project as extra credit for the end of my certification & in that project, I practiced for the first time in months.

This is the highest I had ever lifted my leg in a three legged dog. To this day I’ve never come close to matching it.

I declined & instead became a master at communicating postures solely by word.

My students regularly told me they got more out of classes with me sitting still at the front of the room than they ever did from our other very flexible instructors. I had perfected my craft.

In this time, I paralyzed the left half of my body by tweaking a nerve in my back. I lost my physical practice entirely.

Worst of all, I couldn’t show my students the postures & was told to stop teaching.

In my third year of teaching I finally decided it was time to go further & get a nationally recognized license. The RYT 200 Certification.

For 6 months I trained extensively both mentally & physically - ending in a 3 week stay at a Buddhist Monastery where I didn’t speak for my entire stay.

Two highlights of my career were teaching an annual “Cats & Mats” event for the local humane society

& getting asked to teach special classes for MSU athletes (football, basketball, & baseball)

I was well-known across campus & my classes at the rec center regularly exceeded 100+ people.

During this time I taught hundreds of classes & became the manager of my little yoga studio.

I regularly hosted free community classes, went to schools to lead meditations with teachers, & taught veterans with PTSD on a regular cadence.
November 7, 2025 at 11:50 AM
I went from sweating through holding basic postures to being able to hold almost every posture in the book.

The second picture is the image I consider where I reached my peak physical practice in early 2018.
November 7, 2025 at 11:50 AM
I physically knew postures & typical flows, but I wanted more so I joined a local studio where I began an apprenticeship over the summer.

I worked the front desk & cleaned the studio after classes in exchange for free lessons & training from each of the instructors.
