i remember when former new school president david van zandt was pulling a 2.5 milli annual salary

you could certainly arrange british india and ireland higher on the "intentionality" scale by emphasizing the british Malthusian ideology which rationalized these famines as natural and self-balancing. but it's a difference of degrees and, as you put it, quite fine lines, not immutable categories.
December 9, 2025 at 6:22 PM
you're right that there was no intentional policy of reducing the population of ukraine; but there were reams of policies callously exacerbating the situation, to a level far outweighing the mere chaos of seasonal yields.
December 9, 2025 at 6:22 PM
all true, unless you mean they never denied food aid. they denied both internal and international food aid.
December 9, 2025 at 6:22 PM
Including sealing the Ukrainian SSR borders to prevent famine refugees from leaving, and denying the UCP's famine aid requests and then soon after purging the UCP, and blockading noncomplying villages?
December 9, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Would you agree that Moscow policy, rather than merely natural conditions, was central to the famine?
December 9, 2025 at 4:27 PM
there's a definitional spectrum that can include or exclude the soviet famine, the irish famine, the bengal famine, and others. "intent" can be complicated by neglect and paternalism.
December 9, 2025 at 3:30 PM
How about the religiosity part? Not that one, that's different?
December 9, 2025 at 1:38 AM
Tell me, what is the principle on which you're going to bend your platform to accommodate religiosity, but not to accommodate small-business ambitions, or jingoism, or racism? All popular! Does the mass movement need to recuperate them?
December 8, 2025 at 11:55 PM
Yeah that's actually the opposite of me misunderstanding. This is exactly what I said: You are an opportunist advocating for a platform based on popularity polling. Just go join a bourgeois party. They're more popular and they make sure to speak to superstitious, idealistic and chauvinistic thinking
December 8, 2025 at 11:55 PM
So were you calling YOURSELF religious, then, when you said that the working class is largely religious? What a twist!

Here, I'll call you something: Self-obsessed.
December 8, 2025 at 11:10 PM
We don't have to appeal to religiosity any more than we have to appeal to liberalism, racism, or whatever else. On the contrary the task is to maintain the correct line against it, regardless of whether it's polling as popular in a given time or place.
December 8, 2025 at 11:06 PM
In which case, you were trying to launder it as a "welp I guess we gotta meet them where they are!" when in fact it's exactly where you wanted to go in the first place. using popular values against a revolutionary and materialist line.

what a shocking development in opportunism!
December 8, 2025 at 11:03 PM
This was in response to you saying they're largely religious so we have to embrace that, you donkey.

Does that religiosity go in your pile of heckin' wholesome values, too?

* Do you disagree with anything I said, or
* Do you merely think it's uncouth that I said it, or
* Do you think that while true and acceptable speech, it's impossible for a worker to articulate
December 8, 2025 at 10:56 PM
How so
December 8, 2025 at 10:52 PM
My mom always told me to be conscious of overusing the word "hate".
December 8, 2025 at 10:23 PM
I'll mark you down for the "uncouth" option then?
December 8, 2025 at 10:08 PM
i'm here to talk shit about your opportunism, completely correct. that's my beacon, not some "saying good things about the working class" party that you just made up
December 8, 2025 at 9:01 PM
Do you disagree with anything I said, or do you merely think it's uncouth that I said it? Which point would you like to score
December 8, 2025 at 8:57 PM
The working class is largely religious, conservative, idealist, democrat, tabloid-brained, subservient, nationalist, chauvinist, racialist,

in other words, undeveloped as a revolutionary subject, lacking in consciousness of itself as a class, and steeped fully in the ideology of its masters.
