I'd rather live in reality.

I remember reading a reddit post about the lives of the super rich. At around $100million, you become in effect divorced from society. You no longer interact with people normally. You don't even spend money normally as your servants are purchasing everything for you. The wealth infantilizes you.

Do you believe this justifies murdering Palestinian children?

That is the problem people have with Israel; they are committing the very atrocities they claim to be defending against.

If you want royalties, you need to start a trade union and fight for them. That is how voice actors got theirs.

Will companies ever hire union devs? probably not.

If users need training to use an AI product, then that product is by definition defective. The entire point of AI is that the computer can understand your pain English instructions and "do the right thing". Hell, the AI itself should be able to train you on how to use it.

That is a good idea, but be careful with the laws if you do this. CA appears to allow it but other states are more restrictive. Just don't accept anything from the voter in return for doing so, not even a glass of water.

This is not an option for many elderly and disabled voters. It's either mail their vote or don't vote at all.

Please lets not pretend that walking into a post office or polling station is an acceptable substitute.

Citation please. In all my years as an engineer, I have never put a backdoor into any product I created.

I don't understand the hatred toward this stuff. It's pathetic, but that is all it is as long as it is not used to harass others. Nobody said anything when start trek introduced the holodeck, but this more explicit version is bad?

I think most of you just want to regulate people's imaginations.

Unfair. The New York Times crossword puzzle is a cultural staple that has been around for decades, and a common fixture in other newspapers for just as long. These newer puzzles are just an extension of that tradition.

What a missed opportunity:

"I dedicate tonight's performance to convicted felon and accused rapist and pedophile Donald J Trump, and to the board of directors of the Kennedy Center who fully support him and all his endeavors"

And then play the national anthem of Venezuela.

Copyright is not the only mechanism of IP protection. Disney also trademarks the fuck out of all their characters, and trademark protections are the same whether it is AI or human generated.

Fascism cannot thrive in a world filled with hope, love, and generosity. It is inevitable that at some point they will have to crucify Santa to survive.

And given the complete lack of real Christmas movies this year (not hallmark rom-com slop), they may have already started.

Isn't this the kind of thing architects come up with to keep homeless people from loitering?

This reminds me of that Thomas the Tank Engine episode where they bury a train behind a brick wall. Henry is still behind there, isn't he.

"Glory be to God, there was no loss of life"

Either our military leadership is entirely incompetent, or somebody in the chain of command is a fucking hero.

I feel now is a good time to remind people that the FBI actually ran a real child porn site for weeks, distributing porn and facilitating other pedos. To say they don't care is an understatement.

Yes, it would have been watched. I believe 60 Minutes airs right after Sunday football, and CECOT was the first segment of the show (according to the leaked Canadian airing).
December 24, 2025 at 10:40 PM
But probably not viewed by the one segment that needs to see it the most: conservative US viewers who aren't very online.

Only rich people should have cars in Manhattan. Keep the poors on the bus where they belong.

I find it a little unnerving how gleefully people reach for policies that place a financial burden on the poor and working class.

My understanding is that this was a targeted attack against a transgendered teacher, not just a random student being stupid. It was all a setup to get her fired.

It is disturbing that everyone is burying this part of the story.
