But the acting, the character and set design was pretty good. Solid 7 for me.

Midnight Club - YA plots really aren't my jam but I don't want to give it a bad rating because I can't relate to it. Plus I haven't finished it. Someday I'll give it a fair shot.

I felt like the B plot of the lover ghosts was meh. Typical tragic romance. 8.6/10

House of Usher - I think it was fun, if a little disjointed and the narrative parts felt unnecessary at times, might have been better as an ending. The modernization felt corny in like 2 episodes

The parents long dialogue at the end is heart wrenching esp after my mom passed. Sometimes the C (the Dudleys) plot gets forgotten about at times but it's forgivable. 9.3/10

Bly Manor - Lesbian ghost ending. A winner for me. It gets a little slow at times but the characters and actor are great.

The acting was also really superb. The creature had a great design. Just ughhh I wish I could wipe my brain and watch it again. 9.7/10

Hill House - devastating at times, wonderful horror notes, great direction. Took a classic and really made it his own. Luke's character kills me.

To flesh out my thoughts:

Midnight Mass - a gorgeous storytelling series. The twist was done really nicely. The ending felt final and closed nicely. The tones of religion get a little over my head as I grew up agnostic. I personally love the Flanagan long monologues. Not everyone does.

Though this is a great film to study framing and using background and setting as it's own entity in a film.

I can always appreciate Aster's attention to details.
