Celtic FC, Music of all stripes, but esp The Fall, Low, Post Punk, Bowie, Reggae/Dub, 60's Jazz, DBT, Electronic music in it's many forms. No Torys!
Top 3 for me have two immovables - Get Happy and Imperial Bedroom. He went on such an incredible run from 77-82, so any one of This Years Model, Armed Forces and Trust could be the 3rd choice. Then again it could be King of America 1986. Today's top 3 is
Get Happy
Imperial Bedroom
Armed Forces.

Noticed one of these anniversary posts on X earlier today, and Spike was released on this day in 1989. A 10/10 rating in NME when it wasn't a comic. Worth it even just for Tramp The Dirt Down alone.

Happy birthday to Scotlands Queen of the Gigs @carolinebinnie.bsky.social . Or Happy Earth Day as the great Robert Nesta Marley might say, born on the same date as you!

Yeah. Not the worst thing ever, but not for me. To be honest one of the main reasons I watched it was for Catherine O'Hara😢

Bummer. Could be worse places to be late for a movie right enough😜

Of course you did!! 😎
I loved it.

I was today years old when I realised that the great actress Catherine O'Hara who died today is the sister of the equally great Mary Margaret O'Hara. Her 1988 LP Miss America is a standalone work of genius.

There's been "doctored" versions of it where amateur comedians like football fans put English subtitles that makes it lookas if he is poking fun at a rival team. There are Celtic ones laughing at Rangers, Man City and Liverpool poking fun at Man U etc.

It's not a genuine laugh thats for sure.

£2.50 to see one of the greatest bands ever at Hammersmith in 1981. Then a bottle of Liebfraumilch cost £2.50 or less. Going to see them in June, ticket costs £80(inc booking fee). Today you can buy between 10 and 20 bottles of Liebfraumilch for £80(depends on quality). We had it so good back then.

Disc 2 of Movement and PC+L are top of the pile for me. Sublime.

The quality of tracks on the bonus discs of these NO CD's are sublime. Especially the earlier albums.

Have had Left-Handed Girl in the watchlist for a good few weeks now CC. Probably watch Saturday night. Noticed Little Trouble Girls when I was browsing recently and was certainly intrigued by it.

They played the Citadel (now Leith Theatre)in Edinburgh the night before the Apollo, capacity of 180 which probably still never sold out.
The BBC were hip to them even then though, recorded the Croydon gig at Fairfield Hall from that tour for the In Concert Series.

It's a very eclectically interesting bunch of gigs at the Apollo during that period. Kraftwerk, The Dubliners and Johnny Cash were certainly not on my radar in 1975, but artists I grew to love as I grew older.

Strange to see Kraftwerk at a large 3500 venue in 1975. Here's an article about how the dates covered in the flyer was "the eight days that defined its status in Glasgow history". Billy Connolly played the week before, and also Wings Sept 21, both not on flyer.
