It's actually doing an Ultraman pose. Starmie and Staryu are full of Ultraman references. The jewel in middle that flashes is a reference to Ultraman's color timer. The way it goes "HIYAH!" instead of saying it's name, sounds exactly like Ultraman.

It's a really good toy, done dirty by a severe lack of paint apps. The worst part is all of the other size classes, other than Tiny Turbo Changers, had the flames

SMP is basically fancy Minipla. It started out meaning Super Minipla, but they rebrannded it as Shokugan Modeling Project. The main difference with SMP, is that it has a larger budget, and is geared more towards adults. It also covers many other shows, like Brave.

Well, the figure you posted a photo of is the YuDo of Kamakiri Ohger. They're 3.25 scale candy toys. As with other Bandai candy toys, you have to put them together and apply stickers. Same goes for Minipla. The big draw for minipla since 2008, is that they have loads of articulation
