📸 Tristan Kolling, known as the “upside-down tree”, it can live for over a thousand years, its trunk stores water, providing food, shelter, and medicine to countless species including people.

A cold night (4°C) after a cool, grey day meant not many moths last night (just 6/6).

We did get another beautiful male Orgyia athlophora visiting though. The female of this species is flightless. A species only found in the southwest of WA

🛡️✨ Metallic Shield Bug — Scutiphora pedicellata 🌿

Captured by Nick Lambert in Moonbi, NSW, this dazzling jewel bug is the only species in its genus, found along Australia’s eastern coast. Its metallic colours and shield-like form make it a true gem of Aussie insect life. 🪲
