My very first thought

Family came through with Up Down Fragile and Va Savoir at Xmas, so I’ll be keeping it up

Kagemusha and Silent Scream would both have been relatively contemporary at the time the story takes place, while The Big Country and La Prisonnière appear to be nods to Marie overcoming her distaste of going inside by sleeping in the movie theater

Wandered outside in shorts and a long sleeve t-shirt at 8am. Even after 25 years in Georgia, it’s disorienting.
