The Knife of Never Letting Go is a great series, as is Uglies and Unwind.

I LOVED the novelizations of Star Wars (ep 4) and Empire Strikes Back at that age. Also Splinter of the Minds Eye. Wrinkle in Time is great mg/ya sci-fi.
