Tall, Scottish, friendly, occasionally handsome (not actually an Alpaca)
Sounds exhausting.

I’ll stick with some cosy anime and maybe finally watch Silo on Apple.

Not sure if it’s a server end issue but I can’t get any of the c&r podcasts to download on Patreon or Apple podcasts.

But like all things, I’ll wait and see.
Scornful prejudice or blind fangiggling seems to be the standards for most online discourse regarding upcoming things these days.

There was a time we just waited and saw what came out in the mix.

Pretty much but it was also just plain awful in many many ways.

I suspect the Hunt for Gollum is more about a lot of the old Rings alumni wanting a last hurrah together and doing Serkis a solid.

So setting it shortly before Rings lets them grab together any surviving willing cast with ease.

P.s.

Lest you think this means I am not critical, I have written extensively on my thoughts about LOTR and more specifically the Hobbit prequels here:

Concerning Hobbitses: Of Bookywooks and Boyhood
Having finally made the effort of seating my rump down for three hours to watch the first instalment in the new Hobbit trilogy, I thought I’d cover my thoughts on the experience, but before I…

Doesn’t it always end exactly the same way? I remember that was my big crib with season 2, and 3. (That’s where I gave up)

It’s all just a big build up to Eleven standing and holding her palm toward a big bad while grimacing as her nose bleeds, then it all stops.

That animated movie from a year or so back was far worse than the Hobbit.
But equally… Serkis hasn’t exactly blown anyone away with his directorial work so far.

Tbh I don’t mind.
I actually don’t hate the Hobbit movies. I’ve watched them a bunch and while they’re not on a par with LOTR, they’re far from the crapola people pretend they are.

At the end of the day though, I'm really pleased with it. It's a game I'm glad I stumped up to buy day 1 (steelbook edition)
Which is UNGODLY rare of me to do so.

It also has me cautiously optimistic that when Townfall finally shows a little more of itself, that it will be equally interesting.

In a perfect world, Silent Hill f's NG+ (and NG++) mode would have included new areas, or at least different routes round Ebisugaoka and the Dark Shrine world.
Maybe even more variety in the enemy types locked to the ending paths, but you can't have it all.

Sure, Downpour has some issues with the plot and themes not marrying up with half the endings, but it was also a bloody Xbox 360 era game. It did more with things than any of the previous games did.
But SHf has hit a sweet spot. It's a game that feels like you are changing it on repeat playthroughs.

I will note that a lot of people don't like Downpour. I actually think it's unfairly maligned and overlooked.
It's also why we don't really NEED another game set inside the town of Silent Hill. Downpour not only gave us its own story, but it lets you basically free roam a lot of the town.

But I think f has the benefit of being a beautiful game, which has a story that seems more convoluted at first, then too simple, but as you get deeper, you realise it's a perfect balance of predictable thematics and well drawn explorations of them.

But it really is the most solid entry in decades.

I say that having NOT played the recent remake of Silent Hill 2, I'll get to it, eventually.
I don't hate any of the SH games, I think they all have their merits (maybe not the Pachinko machine, or that godawful roguelike on Vita)
But the main games are all playable and mostly fun.
