Back in the pre-season many looked at the Jays February stretch of games - 11th thru 21st (@DePaul, Villanova, @UConn, @StJ-MSG) as the defining challenging stretch of the conference slate- as both UConn and StJ were highly ranked entering the season. However, the non-conference has shown that Butler, Nova, and Seton Hall are better than previously predicted.

I was very optimistic going into the Players Era Tounrament (PET) in Las Vegas on Thanksgiving Week. The slate was pretty promising – 2 good teams to match up with and a potential big game to end the slate. Jays did not perform well, did not meet the expectations, and lost to both Baylor and Iowa State.

Jays tabbed #23 in both AP & Coaches National Polls Regular Season nonconference slate is on Deck. Well the exhibition slate is complete. The BE Media Day was a success. The Big East coaches put out their annual predictions...ahemmm. The start of the regular season is on deck (Nov 3rd). CU's 1st tilt is Nov 5th vs South Dakota State. All is well.

Jays (men) win exhibition opener vs #16 Iowa State 71-58 Well, here we go! The unofficial opener to the Men's 2025-26 basketball season kicked off last evening. The #23 (AP) Jays hosting the #16 (AP) Iowa St Cyclones at the CHICO. This was the 1st exhibition game ISU has played in many years, while the Jays have done so over the last 2 years.

Been retro-viewing a few podcasts, including the Roll Jays Podcast folks. The episode below (from 10 days ago) addresses several questions that will have to be answered: Roster rotations? Who's the 5? Starters? Giving adequate PT to a potent roster? Who steps up into player leadership roles? Developing the depth charts? It's always a big deal when the volleyball Jays v Huskers meet. Huskers in 5 sets. Creighton has the greatest fanbase in the USA...bar none! Roll Damn Jays!
