agree with you on a lot but this doesn’t make sense. Medicare is a preexisting universal healthcare system for try elderly and disabled. Opening it to everyone would not fundamentally change how it works.

And this is why it won’t work if SCOTUS rules that independent agencies are illegal. If the President can use M4A to enrich himself, like the current president is doing with his use of the FCC, for example, then M4A won’t work. Medicare Advantage for All is the only solution, as problematic as it is

Weiss thought the Twitter Files was actual reporting which tells you all you need to know.

Medicare Advantage for All. The unitary executive means that the federal government can’t be trusted to run any program if it doesn’t have to follow the law. In this reality, private insurance is a necessary evil and a universal private system already exists. Expand Medicare advantage to everyone
December 25, 2025 at 12:39 AM
54% of people are on Medicare Advantage. Of the remaining 46%, around 40% have a Medigap plan. Private insurers are involved in about 75% of all Medicare recipients. People like medicare but it’s rarely just the original Medicare.

The new unitary executive/king system we’re under precludes a government universal healthcare unfortunately because the executive does not have to follow the law. The ACA system of having private insurers manage it is the only real solution. Medicare advantage for all may be the best option now.

Except combing with a HDHP instead of a standard insurance plan, the $3k will amount to nothing for most people… it will be one or two doctors visits at best.
December 20, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Same as your first point. Not enough people can self-insure for this to be an issue. A hospital that only treats the ultra wealthy will have almost no patients.
December 10, 2025 at 11:40 PM
Between employer and employee contributions, most people pay more than that. And again… not enough people who can self-insure to impact your second point.
December 10, 2025 at 11:39 PM
There’s not enough rich people for that to happen. When it comes to medicine, regular rich isn’t close enough to self-insure. There’s probably fewer than a million people in America who could safely self-insure.

No way Netflix doesn’t release Batgirl.

I stand by AI is an amazing technology but it sucks the tech bros came for the artists first. I want AI that can do my dishes, get me a drink from the fridge, and do my taxes so I can have time to make art and movies and music myself.

If the president doesn’t sign a bill, it becomes law within 10 days unless Congress goes out of session during this time. Most presidential signatures are not needed. And executive orders can be made rescinded no matter what, so this has no effect basically.

AI is an amazing technology that is being used in the worst way possible. Dead internet isn’t a theory, it’s going to be a reality soon if nothing is done about it

I’m glad they didn’t, even though it would have been interesting, because this was Garfield’s story and episodes without him would have detracted from him being given his rightful due.

I feel like he’s trying to do it because the alternative is guys look to people like Jordan Peterson or Andrew Tate.

Streaming is going to be as much as cable soon. Cable could have a renaissance when that happens.

Who thought home ownership was a good idea anyway? Elon can buy every house in the country and rent them to us.

I get that the New Yorker has to make money but can the paywall be taken down for this? It’s too important to be hidden.

Start a “when will he resign?” narrative.

This isn’t much different from how he’s dealing with universities, law firms, corporations, Congress, etc. He’s a gangster running a protection racket out of the White House.
