I like cycling and US policy/public policy. It's great because there is zero overlap and makes for a very interesting feed. Great to see so many of you move here from Twitter!

Keep Bluesky great.
A last minute Christmas song recorded in the summer from a joke band truly is the best Christmas song of all time. It's my favorite by a long shot.

Hassett is intentionally misleading you by taking a year-to-date number and comparing it to a full year number. The year-to-date numbers she uses are from January to September. There are still 4 more months of data. Add that in and the result is... 2.1%, or just above target.

Twelve year old me loved this movie. A great combination of Star Trek and just darn good movie making.

I saw Murder, My Sweet for the first time last year and think it's fantastic. Love Dick Powell in his role.

It's a real commercial? Not a joke?

Heroes was the first show I ever watched episodes of on the Internet. NBC would replay the show on their website, which was great as I was always working when it was on.

I've seen the price fluctuate wildly on the Blu-rays but it's definitely worth it if you can find it at a reasonable price.

Yes. That's who.

I wish I had the video of, I think, Nico Denz at the Olympics.

My Lego addiction. This is about half of what I have as the rest are still in packing boxes

The ACA has differing rates for age and smoking but not the other things mentioned.

"To ease the transition to new technologies, she says there should be designs that are repairable or modular rather than the constant purge and replace cycles."

Every PC enthusiast is nodding along to this.

My Ship of Theseus PC is now 33 years old.

I would rewatch the prequels before I'd rewatch the sequels, particularly after the Rise of Skywalker.

Yglesias has a very dry sense of humor that most people don't get. Assume many of his posts have a /s after them. Yglesias has just been online long enough that he was posting before people thought it necessary to use /s.

Shelly Winters has a face for film noir.

My wife loves these. I tend not to. It often degenerates into every character yelling at every other character.

The first time I saw MST3K on Comedy Central was life changing. I'm glad I've been able to say 'thank you' in person to you, Trace, Bill, Joel, and Josh.

Gotta be on the floor of Congress for that.

So what you're saying is that everything Trump is doing is no worse than anything Harris would have done. That is, of course, completely nuts.
November 24, 2025 at 5:28 AM
I answered your question. You just can't handle the truth that voting or not voting equally supported this genocide you claim to hate.

You're the one who claims the two candidates were equal so you're the one claiming not voting made no difference whatsoever.
November 24, 2025 at 5:27 AM
Since you claim both candidates were equal then voting or not voting for them was going to lead to the same outcome. You supported genocide equally no matter what you did.

What you're really telling us is you think Harris and Trump were overall equal on every other issue, too, and that's nuts.
November 24, 2025 at 5:21 AM
If both candidates were equal on one issue as you imply, then a rational voter would use every other issue to decide whom to vote for.

Since they didn't vote for either, they believe those two candidates are overall equal on every other issue combined, and that's insane.
November 24, 2025 at 4:58 AM
I'm not saying they are beyond hope. You are. You're the one saying these voters really did have a preference between the two candidates but irrationally didn't vote on the preference.
November 24, 2025 at 3:51 AM
If the voters actually thought one candidate was better than the other they would have voted for that better candidate.

Your argument is that, no, these voters really did think one candidate was better they just didn't vote for that candidate. That's an irrational voter.
