In the early 1880s, Heywood produced a luggage van on bogies that also acted as a guards van at one end. Little is generally known about this van, but it to was eventually sold to the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway during their gauge conversion in 1916. However it only lasted a very short time in service, deemed too heavy for the mixed trains the Ravenglass took then. Used therefore as a hut and chickencoop but it's ultimate demise in the 1940s. Sir Arthur Heywood produced a Dining Carriage, that served up to eight passengers the finest dining experience. One was built in 1894, eventually ending up in the hands of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway after gauge conversion in the 1920s. Here the dining setting inside was removed for more conventional passenger seating, until it was withdrawn in the 1940s. Sir Arthur Heywood produced a Sleeper Carriage, that housed four beds and a single wash basin to live in. One was built in 1894, eventually ending up in the hands of the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway after gauge conversion in the 1917 where to it had been rebuilt to commedate conventional passenger seats with the removal of the births. It was withdrawn in the 1940s, soon being scapped around 1950.

Getting some inspiration from one of my favourite books while a print is underway for more minis. The Wind in the Willows just captures the tranquil peace to escape from reality for an hour or two. Really need to go rowing on the river again soon I think!

Paint came out really well, very striking considering how tiny they are!

All three were used by Sir Arthur Heywood to demonstate the wonders of what a 15 Inch minimum gauge railway can achieve. All three coaches come with all the bogies, bolts, washers, doors, tables, beds respectively and roofs to complete the kit.

I have a habit of not painting my own kits. Sergeant Rambo is mightily displeased over the fact it's showing bare grey resin but Officier Hastings is more confused than anything else! Hoping to have a paint day soon, wish me luck 😅

WIP O9 Gauge gubbins!
Here we have a "what if" River Irt, if she was built to a 0-6-2 design, alongside three new Duffield Bank coaches. A bit rough around the edges (boiler mainly, was a bit tight) but this test print shows what I can and can't do with the kit!

An O9 Gauge model railway loco, designed on the "River Irt" locomotive at the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway sitting on my layout "Gadwall Estate" Randell the Ferret inspects the clearences as "River Ella" drives into the station, ready to run around the train. Our first Human visitor to the layout! Three new O9 gauge coach kits, based on Duffield Bank Railway stock. Been quiet lately!
Don't worry things are progressing. Hit a bit of a snag when it comes to kits in the works. What I have been working on slowly is a website that'll act as a catalogue for all our kits.
Not done yet, so look out for that in future!

She was Sir Arthur's first locomotive constructed for the Duffield Bank Railway in 1875. Named after his wife, she was largely an experiment for his ambitions in getting minimum gauge railways off the ground.
